McGavock Sessions Presents: Masquerave – All Campus Party
The McGavock High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) program brings together students from its Recording Arts and Video Production pathways to create authentic, real-world learning experiences in media, music, and live production. Under the banner McGavock Sessions, these students are producing a live virtual event that blends creativity, technical skill, and community engagement.
On May 5 at 12:00 PM – 1:30PM (Central Time), McGavock Sessions will present Masquerave: All Campus Party, a live, student-produced virtual event designed to connect students across campuses through music and shared experience. The program will feature a DJ set curated by DJ Maj, created to energize and engage students during the school day in a positive, school-appropriate environment.
Students are encouraged to participate by wearing their favorite Masquerave masks and joining the Zoom Party Cam, where they can appear as special guests during the live broadcast. The event will be produced and streamed in real time by McGavock CTE students, showcasing the skills they are developing in audio production, video production, and live event broadcasting.
While hosted by McGavock High School, students from schools across the country are invited to join and take part in the experience through multiple streaming platforms.
In addition to celebrating student creativity, Masquerave: All Campus Party also supports Mental Health Awareness Month. The event is designed to promote connection, encourage peer support, and remind students that they are not alone as the school year comes to a close.
DJ Maj shared the purpose behind the event:
“We’re here to let students know they are not alone. I’m excited to use music to help build bridges between students and their advisers, and to encourage peer-to-peer care as summer approaches. Let’s finish strong.”
Students can join the live event by visiting www.djmaj.com and selecting their preferred platform: YouTube, Instagram Live, Facebook Live, TikTok, X, or Twitch.
